Apologia Academy is an online educational program providing live interactive and recorded classes for students from the 7th grade through Adults. We have two departments: 1) SCIENCE, and 2) BIBLE, APOLOGETICS, & WORLDVIEW. Leave the details to us. We use our own proven science curriculum for grades 7-12 (Exploring Creation with: General Science, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Marine Biology, Advanced Biology: Human Anatomy, Advanced Chemistry, and Advanced Physics). And our Bible & Apologetics Department uses cutting-edge teachers and curriculum. We do all the lesson planning, testing, grading, monitoring and record keeping. Online & Live, or Online Recorded classes. Our classes meet at various times and days. Each class meets for 90 minutes 1 day per week for 32 weeks (30 weeks for Bible/Apologetics courses). However, if none of the specific times work for your family, you can choose to watch the class later but still have full access to the teacher, grading, etc. Great support and help. Your Home School, Transcripts, Credits, and Grades Apologia Academy respectfully recognizes your home school as the legal educational institution. Because of this fact, Apologia Academy will not usurp your authority by giving credits for taking online courses You give your students the appropriate credits from your home school educational institution. We are here to assist you in that educational process. Apologia Academy is an excellent educational resource for your homeschool both with curriculum and through our Academy. We assist schools (your homeschool, private school, etc.) with their education in the sciences and in Bible, apologetics, and World View disciplines. We teach you for 90 minutes, one day per week. There are 30 90-minute sessions for classes in the Bible, Apologetics, & Worldview Department, and 32 90-minute sessions in our Science Department classes. Outside of our ¡°virtual classroom¡±, the amount of time you have your student do class work during the week, is up to your homeschool (and any appropriate state requirements). We give the expert instruction, the student then works at home. For many years students have taken classes from online, live educational resources like Apologia Academy. Some states differ in their cooperation with homeschool institutions. SCIENCE DEPARTMENT Courses you take in the Apologia Academy Science Department are taught by carefully selected science teachers including B.S. and master degree professionals, homeschool moms, dads, pastors, and former public and/or private school teachers. Apologia science curriculum is built on a creationist foundation. They are not secular courses with a few scripture verses thrown in. The view of God as the Master Designer of the wonders we see around us is integral to each course. In addition, we cover topics which are relevant to the Christian life. For example, the historical accuracy of the Bible is discussed in Exploring Creation with General Science; age of the earth theories are discussed in Exploring Creation with Physical Science; the creation versus evolution controversy is discussed in Exploring Creation with Biology; the incredible design of the atmosphere is discussed in Exploring Creation with Chemistry; and the astounding design of the human eye is discussed in Exploring Creation with Physics. BIBLE, APOLOGETICS, & WORLDVIEW DEPARTMENT Our Bible Department uses instructors who are master degree theologians, apologists, and parents with many years experience in both academics and ministry. The governing concern for all Bible, Apologetics, & Worldview courses, from An Introduction to the Bible to Apologetics: Creation vs. Evolution and Philosophy, in Apologia Academy is what the Bible teaches. This is of supreme importance to us because we believe in the verbal inspiration and absolute inerrancy of the Bible. The flexibility in our courses gives you the opportunity either to study broadly in the defense of the faith, learn basic Bible, or to tailor course work for your particular area of interest such as biblical, cultural, philosophical, cult apologetics, and more, all with an eye toward demonstrating the truth of the Gospel and the Christian world view beyond a reasonable doubt. The classes in the Bible, Apologetics, & Worldview Department are full-year, two-semester courses and are open to any age, including adults. Adults have all the privileges that junior and senior high students have. Adults only can opt for a "Certificate of Completion," with which to verify their Bible education for church education boards or other teaching opportunities requiring verification of Bible training. Our Mission Apologia Academy is committed to providing products, resources, and services that help homeschool families learn, live, and defend the Christian faith. We offer online courses in apologetics for junior high and high school students¡ªas well as adults¡ªto provide the next generation with rational grounds for believing the truth claims of Christianity and to respond to objections raised against the true knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). Learning to defend the Christian faith is a great way for young people to put their faith into action and become doers of the Word (James 1:22). |
